Teaching Friendships

How to teach your child to be a friend.

Teaching Friendships

As adults, we know that it takes effort to make and keep friends.  Sometimes it means being selfless, compassionate and giving. If you have a child who has trouble making and keeping friends, then you may have a role to play in teaching the basics of friendship says Jacob Azzerod, author of From Difficult to Delightful in Just 30 Days. “Basically there are behaviors that bring people closer together.  I call them friend behaviors.  Friend behaviors are praising behaviors, taking turns in a game, good play ideas, a sense of humour, allowing the other child to have a say in an activity as opposed to being bossy. ”
