The Role of Grandparents

Why grandparents are so important in the lives of today’s families.

The Role of Grandparents

Whether grandparents live in the same home, the same town or miles and miles away, they hold a special place in the hearts of children. They also play an important role with parents, helping them cope with the challenges that present themselves in that busy and anxious first year of babies’ lives says Erica Wells, co-author of The Survival Guide for Rookie Moms. “Grandparents play a huge role in that first year of parenthood. They supply support for Mom and Dad for babysitting and household chores, and the perfect grandparent is one that will play an active role in that baby’s life.  So, it doesn’t have to be expensive toys or anything of that nature, it’s just really love and support. Be there for Mom, be there for Dad and really spend some time with the kids.”
