Toddlers and Newborns

Introducing a toddler to a newborn can be quite a challenge.  After all, until now, your toddler may well have been the one and only and little did she think there’d be competition!   But being completely prepared for your toddler’s reaction can be a bit difficult, simply because responses are so varied as Heidi Merkoff author of What to Expect: The Toddler Years explains. “Some toddlers will respond to a new baby’s arrival right away.  Some will wait until the baby is a toddler and is invading their territory by playing with their toys.  Some will respond with regression and start wetting their bed or taking up the bottle again if they’ve already given it up. They see all the attention that a baby is getting and they want to be a baby too.”
