The many benefits of signing your child up for daycamps.
For many parents, childcare can be a big problem during the summer months. But daycamps are a great alternative for summer childcare, offering a wide variety of interesting camps to keep kids active, engaged and they’re less expensive than sleep-over camps. Plus you can still be with your kids in the evenings says Dr. Harley Rotbart, author of No Regrets Parenting. “With daycamps, kids get to sleep at home at night and you’re there. You get the benefit of all of the learning and growth of a sleep-away camp at a daycamp. They get the outdoor experience, kids get the socialization just as they would at a sleep-away camp, but then they’re home at night with you to take a walk after dinner or to go to the baseball game. It seems like our summers are so precious. We should take advantage of the day care that daycamps provide, but not give away the evening that we would otherwise have with our kids.”
