The signs that your child may be addicted to computer games.
While computers are a fact of life in today’s world, they can also cause concern. If children are ignoring everything else from school work to friends, it could be a sign of a type of addiction says Julie Ross, author of the book on parenting tweens, How to Hug a Porcupine. “There are a variety of signs to look for. If the child is neglecting other healthy activities in favor of being on the computer, if their eating habits change, or their sleep habits change because they need to be on the computer, if their mood changes, if the child becomes even more surly than the average ‘porcupine’, or tween during these years would be another sign. If their grades fail. It’s basically the signs we would look for in a child who is addicted to a chemical substance.”
